After having such a great time with my 2009 Resolutions, I'm doing it all over again!

See the below video for my 2010 list along with some of the suggestions my friends made.

The Full List

  1. Keep a plant alive
  2. Go skydiving
  3. Write a novel
  4. Buy a round of drinks for a roomful of strangers
  5. Have a conversation in a foreign language
  6. Volunteer
  7. Do 100 push ups
  8. Beat my time on a 10k run (58 mins)
  9. Climb a mountain
  10. Break a world record

Wish me luck! And Happy New Year!

Resolutions

Submitted by Duncan (not verified) on Fri, 03/26/2010 - 15:31.

Hi mate, I've just discovered your blog!

I see you've already started your book, but in case you either haven't heard of it, or have but think it could help get your book finished, http://www.nanowrimo.org/
The challenge involves writing 50,000 words in one month (November) so if you haven't finished by then, you could try it!

As for your 'hundred pushups' resolution, have you heard of http://hundredpushups.com/ ? Could be useful!

Funny you should mention

Funny you should mention those. NaNoWriMo was the semi-inspiration for my novel resolution (I was just being a realist in giving myself 12 times as long). And I did try the Hundred Push Ups routine a coupla years back, and wanted to give myself motivation to do the whole dang thing this time.

Great minds, and all that :-D

Good to see you're keeping up

Good to see you're keeping up the tradition. Well done on your '09 achievements - apologies that my offer to help with the wikipedia entry never materialised (further proof that you can't entrust important stuff to just anyone). I have completed 5 of ten of your resolutions for this year... which is going to be my yardstick from now on for how much ridiculous stuff my life has contained (I had only done three of yours last year).

As training for your 10k run... how about a charity 5k run in a sumo suit across Battersea Park on June 19th? My team from work is going to enter, allegedly (although I fully expect it to be just me when the time comes)

Cheers, if I'm honest, its

Submitted by Tom on Tue, 01/05/2010 - 19:56.

Cheers, if I'm honest, its probably better I didn't get an entry created. Wouldn't have lasted long and would've made the gods of the wiki world angry with me.

I'd be interested to know which 5 you've done (and indeed which 3 from last year). I shall write guesses in a sealed envelope. Then I will come out of the envelope with a piece of paper and we shall compare notes.

Totally up for the sumo run!
